Singida–Iramba–Sekenke District

Central Tanzania contains mixed granitoid, gneiss, metavolcanic, metasedimentary and iron-rich units. Recent Iramba–Sekenke work supports a structurally controlled exploration model involving NW–SE, NE–SW and N–S lineaments, while the Misaki study reports local soil Au associations with As and Bi. Those regional findings guide questions; they do not replace project-scale structural measurements or assays.

Updated: 2026-08-13

01

Regional lineaments are exploration guides, not measured project shear zones.

02

Au–As–Bi at Misaki is a local soil association, not a universal district threshold.

03

Iron staining, BIF weathering and barren shearing remain active alternatives.

Geological setting

Regional literature describes granitoids and quartzo-feldspathic gneiss together with stratified metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks. Older components include felsic volcanic or volcaniclastic rocks, chert–oxide and iron formations associated with mafic volcanic units.

At prospect scale, colour is not a mineral identification. Grey-green rock may contain chlorite, and pale bands may contain quartz, carbonate or felsic material, but field tests, petrography and XRD are required.
