Folded contacts and rheological contrasts can be more important than one preferred fault direction.
North Mara–Musoma/Mara District
North Mara lies in the eastern Lake Victoria Goldfields. Public company interpretation emphasises folded host stratigraphy, rheological contrasts and mineralisation along contacts involving volcanic rocks, dykes and metasedimentary units. The district package preserves these ideas as testable regional context while keeping mine-specific corridors and estimates separate.

Cover can hide alteration and structure, increasing the need for integrated mapping and drilling.
Mine corridors such as Gokona remain mine-specific reference models.
Report overview
Geological setting
The district is part of the eastern arm of the Lake Victoria Goldfields and includes Nyanzian and Kavirondian rocks in the wider regional literature. At deposit scale, volcanic units, intermediate dykes and metasedimentary rocks create contacts with contrasting mechanical behaviour.
Later folding and faulting can repeat, offset or steepen favourable contacts. A regional greenstone label is therefore insufficient without local stratigraphic and structural control.
