Geita Greenstone Belt
Geita is a structurally complex Archaean gold district in the Lake Victoria Goldfields. Public technical disclosure describes mineralisation in deformed metasedimentary and intrusive-contact settings, with BIF, shearing, brecciation and fold geometry varying between deposits. This report treats those relationships as district-scale reference characteristics, not as evidence that a nearby licence contains the same hosts or mineralised shoots.

Folds, shear zones, jogs, bends and brecciation can focus fluid flow and higher-grade shoots.
Ferricrete and palaeodrainage require separate treatment from fresh-rock geochemistry.

Geological setting
The Geita mine technical report places the district in the late Archaean Geita greenstone belt, part of the outer Sukumaland belt. The succession includes metabasalt, metasedimentary units and varied intrusive rocks, all affected by deformation and metamorphism.
The belt is poorly exposed in places. Ferricrete and palaeo-alluvial cover mean that surface colour, float and soil anomalies must be connected back to mapped bedrock before they are treated as primary geological evidence.
